We’re going on Vacation!

vacationTo our friends & followers,

The Barefoot Belle online store will be temporarily unavailable for an extended period of time while I travel around the globe sourcing new products & making new business connections. This has been a tough decision to come to as I have spent the last couple years building up Barefoot Belle, but I will be traveling for about a year or so and I have decided that if I am to get the most out of my traveling experiences then this is what’s best for me.

In the mean time, I will continue blogging and posting to our social media with fun travel adventures & updates. Rather than focusing on marketing products, I will be shifting the focus to sharing more personal & travel type posts. I hope you all still follow along with me on my journey!

The store will be up & still accepting orders until August 3rd. If any of you have any questions please do not hesitate to email me directly at: lauren@shopbarefootbelle.com. After the store goes inactive I will be updating my new contact information.

☼5 Eco-Friendly Beach Destinations☼

Whitehaven Beach, Whitsunday Islands, Australia

Whitehaven Beach is considered by many as one of the world’s most beautiful beaches. This remote beach on Whitsunday Island in Australia has remained ecologically preserved by limiting areas in which visitors can access. There are no hotels on the beach which limits visitation via daily round trip boat rides, overnight camping on the beach, or self-sufficient boats that anchor overnight off the beach.

Hanauma Bay Nature Preserve, Oahu, Hawaii

Hanauma Bay Nature Preserve was once a volcanic crater that became a cove due to wave erosion. After a major restoration to re-establish the preserve’s eco-system, preservation of the cove has been highly emphasized. It is located approximately 10 miles from Waikiki Beach (Honolulu). If you’re ever in Honolulu, make sure to check this unique beach out.

Gerakas is quiet, unspoiled and protected from development, although in recent years beds and parasols have found their way there. As part of the National Marine Park, the vegetation and wildlife of and around the beach are protected – including the loggerhead turtle. Enjoy a day on the sand and in the water, and then help out with a clean up during a turtle monitoring session.

Short Sands Beach: Oswald West State Park, Oregon

This hidden gem is tucked away in a cove in Oswald West State Park. The shores of the park are marine protected areas making it unlawful for anyone to take any animals or vegetation. Surrounded by mountains and reached by hiking the state park’s trails through a forest of tall mature trees, this beach will make you feel as if you’ve found a pot of gold at the end of the rainbow.

Two miles north of Punta Negra, the 12 miles of Sabal shorefront is inclosed between two reserves – the Port of Honduras Marine Reserve on the Oceanside and Payne’s Creek National Park. It’s the perfect place for lazy days swinging in a hammock or for fishing, snorkeling, diving or bird watching. This beach will give you the Caribbean vibes without the crowds.
